PET INSURANCE: PEACE OF MIND
Our dogs are part of our family. They give
us unconditional love and they are wonderful companions. We
just give them affection and attention, exercise, food and
shelter and they give love back to us ten-fold. So when our
dogs get sick, we want the best care for them. That's where
pet insurance can help.
Vet bills can add up quickly (a broken toe on our Springer
Spaniel cost almost $600 in vet bills!). So it is important to have protection
and peace of mind in the event your dog is struck by illness or an injury.
Pet insurance is a good way to budget expenses in the event something
happens to your pet.
What Does Pet Insurance Cover?
Typically pet insurance covers such illnesses
and injuries as first-time illnesses, foreign body ingestion or poison
ingestion, auto accident, bone fractures, lacerations, burns, allergic
reactions to insect bites or stings, and even recovery costs in the event
your pet gets lost.
We like the PetCare insurance program offered by PETCO.
It covers the illnesses and injuries mentioned above with a coverage amount
of $1000 in most instances ($500 for first-time illnesses and lost dog
recovery) and the premium is reasonable, only about $12 a month.
