The Anatolian Shepherd is large and impressive, possessing
great agility and courage. He is a working guard dog bred
to protect livestock. He is alert, intelligent, and calm.
His is loyal to his master, may be reserved around strangers,
and is a good guard dog. He needs socialization from an early
age and firm obedience training. It is important children
establish leadership over him right away.
Physical Features:
He is 27-29 inches and weighs 80 to 150 pounds. Females are
at the small end of the spectrum. His coat is short and rough
with a thick undercoat. Anatolian Shepherds may be a variety
of colors. The typical coloring is fawn with black mask. He
requires only minimal brushing.
